On the inside the part on which the paper was placed so that it could be written, is lined. with a green velvet fabric. Also present a compartment with lid for the pens and a compartment where the inkwell could be put in. There is a lock on it but the key is no longer present.
A chocolate box? Unbelievable, but chocolate used to be an expensive delicacy and it was packaged very nicely! This beautiful antique light green velvet oblong example, served as packaging for Fry's chocolate. The box is beautifully decorated with gold-coloured art nouveau ornaments, handle and lock. The green velvet is in very good condition, some small worn spots on the corners are present but not disturbing. A small piece of the decoration at the handle has broken off, but this antique box is equally beautiful!
