The knitting aids were often treasured pieces because they were often made as a home craft and the maker often gave them their own touch by adding decorations. Antique wooden pill cutter from the period around 1900 used by the pharmacist to make pills. Made by London's Lynch&co., rolls of mixed medicine were placed on the copper ledges, and by pushing and moving the part with the handles on it, a lot of pills were cut in one go.
