This antique wooden stereo viewer or stereoscope was used for viewing stereo photos. The handle is foldable and the crossbar with metal holders is slidable and the photos were placed in this. Furthermore, the part with the glass lenses is mounted on the frame. It worked as follows: it the left eye sees the left image and the right eye the right image, the brain ensures that one saw 1 image with depth. The viewer is from the late 1800s/early 1900s
